Margie Lee Vaughn

 
Longtime Alaska resident Margie Lee Vaughn, 71, died Feb. 20, 2006, at Creekside Assisted Living in Palmer.

A celebration of her life and gathering of family and friends will be held later this spring.

Mrs. Vaughn was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Sweetwater, Texas. She graduated from Iredell High School in Sweetwater in 1954.

Mrs. Vaughn came to Alaska in 1971, and lived in Anchorage until 1976 and in Wasilla from 1977 until 2006.

She was a homemaker and Avon consultant.

Her family wrote, "After her husband, Jack, retired, she enjoyed traveling the Lower 48 in their motor home. She also loved going to Las Vegas, watching the rodeo, listening to country music, back-yard bonfires, taking long walks and getting out of town and traveling with family.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Vaughn, on Jan. 16, 2000.

Survivors are her daughters and son-in-law, Carrie and Micah Weinstein of Wasilla, and Jacqueline Vaughn of Palmer; son, Jeffrey Vaughn of Big Lake; grandchildren, Micah David and Jacob Weinstein of Wasilla, Ashley and Zachary Adams of Washington state, Jarred Adams of California and Noah Jess and Ricky Vaughn of Palmer. Arrangements are with Valley Funeral Home & Crematory of Wasilla.
