Arthur M. Snyder
Longtime Soldotna resident Arthur M. Snyder, died Saturday, Jan.
4, 2003, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna, surrounded by his
family. He was 92.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.
Wednesday at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Viewing
will be from noon until service time at the church. Burial will be in Spruce
Grove Memorial Park in Kasilof, following the services.
Mr. Snyder was born Aug. 28, 1910, in Beatrice,
Neb. His family moved to California a few years later, where he made his home
until 1964. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 through
1945 in the China-Burma-India area.
He moved to Seward with his family in 1964,
where they lived until 1966. After a brief return to California, the family
moved to Soldotna in 1967, where he and his wife remained. He worked as an
assessor for the Kenai Peninsula Borough.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, picnics,
family outings, traveling the United States and being with his family and
friends.
"Mr. Snyder will be greatly missed by his
family," his family said.
Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by four
brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years,
Virginia Snyder of Soldotna; daughters, Sherrie Snyder of California and Judi
Bartlett and her husband, Greg, of Soldotna; grandchildren, Danielle McInnis and
Karina Wysong of Alaska and Greg and Doug Dippel of California; and four
great-grandchildren, all of Alaska.
