Katherine 'Kathy' Laverne Rogers

Juneau resident Katherine "Kathy" Laverne Rogers died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau. She was 80.

Burial was at Alaskan Memorial Park.

She was born May 23, 1923, in Virginia. She fished commercially in her early years in Alaska and in her later years she was a Certified Nursing Assistant, caring for elderly people in their homes.

"She was a caring and generous person who lived her family, her kitty and her dear friends who will miss her at Mountain view Senior Housing," her family wrote.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Loreese Sophia Hennagin.

She is survived by her adopted daughter, Karen Wilson of Kenai, and her companion, Allen Stephens.
