Nadine Alice McCormick

Palmer resident Nadine Alice McCormick, 69, died peacefully Jan. 23 from cancer at her son’s home in Palmer.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Feb. 6 at the King Chapel, 1701 N. Lucille St. in Wasilla. Pastor Daniel Bracken will officiate.

Nadine was born Aug. 6, 1940 in St. Louis, Mo., but was raised in Arizona and later in California. She moved to Alaska in the early 1990s vowing she loved Alaska and it would always be her home. She kept that vow.

For many years, Nadine enjoyed preparing her mail-outs of encouragement to others. She spent endless hours finding writings that spoke to the heart. She shared these writings by mailing them out each and every month without fail.

Nadine is survived by her three children, James and Tim McCormick and Roberta Jones; she also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Carrie Roushar, Courtney Randall, Christian McCormick, Michael McCormick, Treavor Jones, Daniel Jones, Matthew Jones, Cierra McCormick, Ben Archer, Hannah Lucero and Aubrey Watson; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Crow; uncle Clifford Brumley; and cousin, John Pilch.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Hospice for all of the help, compassion and assistance they afforded Nadine over the last weeks of her life.

Arrangements were by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory.
