Martha E. Matthews


Services for Martha E. Matthews, 53, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Kehl's Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Father Norman Elliott officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.

She died Oct. 7 at Providence Hospital.

Born July 19, 1932 in Stevens Village, she was a life-long Alaska resident and worked as a nurse's aide in Tanana, Bethel and Anchorage.

Mrs. Matthews is survived by her husband, Maurice, of Anchorage; two sons, Gary, of Wasilla and John, of Anchorage; four daughters, Laura Imhoff of New York, Jamie Koyama of California, Cheryl Martinson of Wasilla and Shelby Matthews of Anchorage; one brother, Frank Albert of Tanana; two sisters, Sophie Noecker of Spokane, Wash., and Hazel Nicholai of Willow; and six grandchildren.

Burial will be in Tanana.
