Reba Mozelle Jensen

Soldotna resident Reba Mozelle Jensen died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at her son's home in Soldotna of natural causes. She was 84.

The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.

Mrs. Jensen was born Feb. 3, 1919, in Runnels County, Texas. She moved to Alaska with her husband, Elmer, and two sons in 1959. Together they homesteaded in Fairbanks, and she worked as a teacher at the Joy School until she retired in 1975. They moved to Soldotna in 1982 to be near her grandchildren.

"Reba was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved sewing for the grandchildren when they were babies. She loved to have lots of flowers in her gardens. We know she is happier now that she has joined her husband in heaven," her family said.

Mrs. Jensen was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, in 1986, and her son, Lynn, in 1997.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Mary of Soldotna; granddaughter, Anya of Anchorage; grandson, Olin of Anchorage; sister, Marcene of Texas; and nieces, Ceceline and Donna, both of Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Jensen's name to the Hospice of the Central Peninsula, P.O. Box 2584, Soldotna, AK 99669.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
