John Walter Galanos

Wasilla resident John W. Galanos, 8, died at Providence Medical Center on April 5, 2000.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m., April 15, 2000, at Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla. The family requests those in attendance wear Johns favorite color yellow.

John was born June 14, 1991, in Galloway Township, N.J., to Gregory and Kathleen Galanos. He came with his family to Wasilla in 1997.

His family wrote: John was a Tanaina Elementary School Bearcub. He was proud to be a Bearcub and loved all his friends at school. He touched every person he met. His favorite color was yellow. When you see the sun, think of John, and as his Bearcubs say, Catch some rays of John.

John is survived by his parents, Kathy and Greg Galanos, of Wasilla; grandfather, Don Monahan, of Stuart, Fla.; great-grandmother, Betty (Ruth) Makin Sheppard, of Wasilla; seven aunts, four uncles, many cousins and a multitude of friends.

Memorial donations may be made to the John Galanos Memorial Fund at any branch of National Bank of Alaska.
