Kenai resident Alfred Earl "Fred" Force Jr. died Monday,
March 29, 2010 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage. He was 64.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17 in Michigan.
Mr. Force was born on March 22, 1946, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Alfred
Earl Force Sr. and Margaret Lousie Fox. He went to school in Michigan and
graduated from Caledonia High School in Caledonia Michigan. He married Gayle
Brandley on Oct. 30, 2007, in Laughlin, Nev.
Mr. Force retired from Fred Meyer in Soldotna in 2009 where he worked on
the BSM crew. Before that, he worked contracted security jobs in Nikiski for
the Unocal/Agrium and Tesoro plants). He also worked security for casinos in
Laughlin and as corrections officer in Arizona prior to moving to Alaska in
1995.
Mr. Force loved hunting and fishing. He was an avid reader and enjoyed
learning about anything concerning alternative energy, building, or
agricultural methods. He studied science, mathematics and astrophysics. It
was his dream to build a home of his own design using alternative
energy/methods for us during his retirement years.
Mr. Force was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Randy Force.
He is survived by his wife; her children, Christina Feik of Arizona, Lisa
Thomas of Anchorage, Scott Feik of Kenai and Cheryl Feik of Kenai;
daughters, Karen Kay May, Dawn Marie Westerlund, Christianne Statler and
Tammy Michelle Nix; sons, Alfred Earl Force III, Joshua Perry Force and Cody
Dillon Force; and siblings, Peggy Leys, Tom Force, Shirley Loranger, Terry
Force, Sherry Covington, Mary Tindle, Rodney Force, Rick Force, Ron Force,
Kerry Force.
