Mrs. Theodore Haltern has leased her residence to Frank F. Myers, and
will go to San Francisco by the next steamer to join her husband, who is
sojourning there at present, partly on business and partly for the
benefit of his health.

The activity which usually marks the business of the police courts of
our large cities at the festive season was not wanting at Sitka this
Christmas. Commissioner Brady, on Thursday, was called to sit in
judgment on a charge of disorderly conduct against Wm. R. Christie, and
also against an Indian woman with a name unutterable by English speaking
throats. The evidence showed both cases due to too much indulgence in
stimulants, and as they were both old offenders the commissioner gave
them each four months in jail.

FROM KILLISNOO.
[By the Idaho, from our regular correspondent.]
Angoon society was very much shocked last week at the announcement of
the divorce of Mr. and Mrs. Obediah Koo Yock. According to Indian
custom, he shook her. Mr. Obediah was then married to the wife of his
deceased uncle to conform to the wishes of his own immediate relatives.
On hearing this the devoted wife made a furious attack upon her late
spouse, and when she had finished with him Obediah looked very much like
a "sick" salmon after climbing innumerable falls. All parties appear to
be satisfied, and Obediah is ahead a new suit of clothes presented to
him by his new wife.
